vet's Dance Information

Throughout the history of our wonderful country, all citizens have owed a debt of gratitude to the men and women who have served in our military. The dance committee is sponsoring the seventeenth annual patriotic dance to honor past and present members of our armed forces. Last year’s dance was a phenomenal success with nearly 1000 people in attendance. Proceeds this year will go to POW/MIA/Forget-Me-Nots, Inc.

Once again the high school gymnasium will undergo an enchanting transformation and become a magnificent, flag-draped ballroom enhanced with professional lighting effects and a dazzling display of red-white-and-blue decorations. Entering into this patriotic setting will be the Wilson High School JROTC Cadets, capable of marching the stars and stripes into your heart as they perform their crisp routines.

Live big band music will be provided by the Let’s Dance Band which performs annually at the World War II Weekend, along with Light and Sound Revolution Mobile DJ. Accompanying the live music will be a buffet for your enjoyment. A unique twist to our evening’s event is that many of our high school students will be bringing their grandparents as their dates. Also, veterans are being encouraged to wear their uniforms, medals, and ribbons. The gymnasium is accessible to any people with disabilities.

Please note, this year the doors will be opening at 4:00 P.M. and the food will also be served at that time. The opening ceremony will begin at 5:00 P.M. sharp!
