About Drill

A Drill Competition has several events including Inspection, Unarmed Drill, Armed Drill, Color Guard, and Knock-Out.

Inspection is when a platoon is inspected to get a close up critique on the cadets bearing, knowlede of JROTC, and their overall appearance. The cadets are asked a series of questions which can be found here.

Unarmed drill is a list of verbal commands given by a single drill commander. The drill commander must memorize each command and teach the drill team how to follow each one. The platoon is then graded on their marching skills and ability to follow the commands.

Armed Drill is the same as unarmed drill with the exeption that the cadets carry rifles and do rifle maneuvers.

Color Guard is similar to the drill excercises. However it is a group of four cadets and as part of the routine they must case and uncase the colors.

Knock-Out is similar to the game "Simon Says" but cadets must follow military commands of movement.
